What are you yellin for, chill out? Avril Lavigne isn’t making the 20 year anniversary of her debut album all that complicated.
Recent visits by the singer of Sk8er Boi to the New York City location where she took the cover photo for her album were a reminder. Allow it to go two decades ago. She revealed her recreation in a TikTok on June 28, captioning the video, “20 years later…”
In the TikTok, Avril wore all black and walked into the crosswalk, posing with her arms crossed —just as she did in the cover. Her video jumps in on the current viral TikTok trend where people use Simple plan‘s song “I’m Just a Kid” and show themselves recreating their old photos. Although Avril may have won the competition, we can all agree that it was all done before.
The comments were filled with excitement from fans who couldn’t contain themselves. One user wrote, “NO I IM CRYING,” while another added: “What is the heck do you mean when your saying 20 years later ?”
Even Avril’s fiancé Mod SunHis support was expressed by his writing “This is so incredible!”
