The feature length documentary—which has started production at Build-A-Bear headquarters in St. Louis, Mo.—will trace the iconic brand’s 25 year journey from startup to cultural craze. According to its official description, the film “will examine what factors led to 2021 being the most profitable year of the company’s existence.”
Filmmaker Morden has previously worked on the 2020 Blockbuster documentary. The Last BlockbusterThis report examined the detrimental effects of market changes on video retailers. He stated that he is open to exploring the fascinating world of plushies in a statement.
Morden explained, “I have many questions about this project,” Morden added. What is it that makes Build-A-Bear so popular? It is strange that people will line up for their plush toys, even though they are available already filled. Will experiential retail be able to save our shopping malls? But is it too late?
He said, “I am hoping that the audience will have the same fun as me finding the answers!”
