So why was he absent this season? According to a tweet by Lythgoe, he wasn’t invited back to the panel for the new season.
“I am thrilled America’s young, aspiring dance talent can get to work together with some of our most creative choreographers,” said he. wrote in full. “On a personal sad note, this season I was not asked to join the judging panel. While I am not sure who will be voicing ‘Cue Music”, I wish them luck.
Unsurprisingly, fans have since voiced their surprise and disappointment on Twitter. One follower responded to Lythgoe, “The show will not be the same without you and your technical expertise!!” One more sounded off“It does not feel right for me to not be a judge.”
