The trailer shows that a Severance procedure is a surgical method to divide memories between the personal and work lives of employees. Mark states in an oral agreement that he will not be allowed to view his personal or work memories until the process is completed. These statements are made freely.
Mark is suddenly confronted by his best friend at work, who leaves him questioning everything. “This daring experiment in ‘work-life balance’ is called into question,” Apple teases, “as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself.”
