Just days after cinematographer Halyna HutchinsA tragic accident on set of the movie caused his death. RustMore details about the incident are starting to emerge.
According to a Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office search warrant and obtained by CelebHomes News Alec BaldwinThe incident occurred while he was practicing with a prop gun.
“The rehearsal took places inside a church structure. Alec pulled his weapon and pointed it at the camera,” the warrant states. It also notes that director reportedly directed the rehearsal. Joel Souza, he “believed the gun was safe and used the term ‘cold gun’ while explaining the safety announcement.” After rehearsal, the crew and cast took a lunch break. According to the warrant Souza stated that Baldwin’s firearm had not been checked for safety when they returned.
Souza also told authorities that when the cast and crew resumed, Baldwin was rehearsing a ‘cross draw,’ with the prop gun and Souza “was looking over the shoulder of Halyna, when he heard what sounded like a whip and then loud pop.”
