Rap community mourns the loss of artists Young Dolph.
According to a spokesperson for the Memphis Police Department, a male victim was killed in a drive-by shooting on Wednesday, Nov. 17.

A great icon has died. This man was a beloved artist, and he has been lost too soon. We will miss his drive, dedication, hard work, and loyalty to those around him. His family is in our thoughts and prayers during these difficult times.
According to multiple outlets, Thornton was visiting the South Memphis bakery Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies at the time of the incident.
Numerous members of the rap scene expressed their condolences via social media to Thornton’s family following his death.
