Queen Elizabeth II She kicked off the celebrations of her Platinum Jubilee with a reception at Sandringham House in Norfolk. This was her first public appearance for the new year.
The event was held on Feb. 5, the eve of the Her Majesty’s Accession Day, which will mark the 70th anniversary of her reign. Following the death her father, Elizabeth became the Queen of England and Commonwealth. King George VIFebruary 6, 1952
A light blue dress was worn by the royal 95 years old, and he was seen cutting into the special cake decorated with The Platinum Jubilee emblem. Also enjoying live entertainment from the Hunstanton Concert Band. The also received several gifts including a mosaic made by local school children.
Other members of Sandringham’s Women’s Institute branch were guests. Queen Elizabeth II is a local member and has served as president of this institute since 2003.
