This week, more than one month after the event, newly posted images of the garment, taken by visual artist and museum and costume exhibit curator Chadmichael Morrisette, show it has signs of damage.

KennedyThese images were uploaded to the Instagram account of the Marilyn Monroe Collection private collector on June 13. In the new images, the dress’ back closure shows puckering and pulled seams.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum in Orlando, Fla. purchased the dress from Julien’s Auction for an incredible $4.8 million in 2016, and granted Kim permission to borrow the dress and wear it when she walked on the red carpet alongside her boyfriend Pete DavidsonThe Met Gala. It’s now displayed at the Hollywood branch.
