Hayden is the star of this highly anticipated series. Ewan McGregor, premieres May 25 on Disney+. But while we wait—lightsaber in hand, of course—Christensen opened up about his role and personal journey back to the dark side.
To get Hayden to participate in the project the series director Deborah ChowThe 40-year old actor was present in person.
“Deborah came up and we spent the day chatting,” Hayden told Entertainment Weekly. “She shared a bit with me about the project, her vision and my thoughts on it. “I was thrilled to return.”
Hayden comments that while it was surreal to slip back in Darth Vaders suit, another moment made him feel even more stunned: seeing Ewan play his original role.
“The first time that I saw Ewan as Obi-Wan again,” Hayden said, “that was a very special moment for me, and one that I’ll remember for a very, very long time.”
