Andy Cohen has learned his lesson.
While hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve countdown with Anderson Cooper, Cohen says he was “a hair over-served,” he wrote on Instagram after the show, which is what led to his taking a jab at ABC’s New Year’s Eve Rockin’—and by extension, its host, Ryan Seacrest.
Cohen then revealed on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen LiveThat he regretted.
“The one thing I regret is saying that, and the only thing I can say that’s true. The only thing I regret about was that I trashed the ABC broadcast which I truly enjoy.” Ryan Seacrest and he’s a great guy,” Cohen said. Cohen said, “And that I regret it. I was drunk and stupid.
Now his employer CNN has weighed in and is standing by Cohen. Cohen was not fired as a host for his remarks, contrary to reports. (He spoke out also about York City Mayor Bill de BlasioFacebook founder Mark Zuckerberg).
CNN released a statement to CelebHomes News saying that Andy had said something inappropriate on live TV. “We’ve discussed it with him, and we look forward to seeing him again next year.”
