Prince Andrew will be missing out on Queen Elizabeth IICelebrations of the Platinum Jubilee.

According to a Buckingham Palace spokesperson, the Duke of York has confirmed positive to coronavirus. He won’t be attending the Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen, June 3, because he is too old.

Andrew reportedly saw the queen in the days prior to testing positive, but has undergone routine daily testing and has not seen the monarch since his positive test, per The Daily Mail.

Andrew may miss the whole of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations due to his diagnosis. This will be Elizabeth’s 70th year on the throne, and will take place from June 2 through June 5. Andrew had been scheduled to miss the Service of Thanksgiving, which was part of the four-day festivities.

In response to ongoing accusations of sexual abuse, Andrew was stripped of his royal title and any royal patronages. The queen also removed Andrew from all military affiliations.
