Not a typo—Twitter is adding an edit button.
Twitter’s communication team revealed that the app now has an editing button, as per a tweetShared April 5. The post read, “now that everyone is asking… yes, we’ve been working on an edit feature since last year!”
This announcement follows tech mogul Elon Musk—who recently purchased a 9.2 percent stake in Twitter—tweeted a poll on April 4 asking users whether or not the social media platform should add an edit button. The poll result showed that 74% of those surveyed supported the new feature.
Twitter seemed to have addressed Elon’s poll in an April 5 tweet. It clarified, however that there was not a correlation. According to the company, their post stated, “no. We didn’t get this idea from a survey.”
Twitter reports that the company will test the Edit button in Twitter Blue’s Monthly Subscription feature. “In the coming months, to learn what works and what doesn’t work, and what is possible,” said Twitter.
