Paramount+ announced Tuesday February 1 that they were still working on the reboot of the crime drama despite speculations that it was dead. Per Deadline, during the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, Nicole ClemensParamount+’s President of Original Scripted Series stated that the Criminal MindsThe revival was “still very much under development,” further teasing, “We’ll be sharing more soon, but it is still alive and well.”

This update comes six months after Criminal MindsAluminum Paget BrewsterBrewster said she believed the reboot would not happen. In July, Brewster, who starred as Supervisory Special Agent Emily Prentiss on and off during the show’s original 15-season run, told one fan on Twitter, “Sadly, we think it’s dead. If there are any developments, I will let you know but it appears unlikely. This is very disappointing.

A Paramount+ rep later assured CelebHomes News that the revival had not been called off.

Brewster is jokingly commenting on the latest revival news wrote on Twitter, “When being wrong feels so right… I LOVE IT!”
