Netflix unveiled the first glimpse of its limited series on January 19, Griselda starring Vergara. Director of the six-episode series was Andrés BaizInspired by an ambitious and savvy Colombian businesswoman,? Griselda BlancoShe was responsible for one of the largest and most successful cartels ever created.

Blanco was a devoted mother. Her lethal combination of charm and undiscovered savagery enabled her to expertly navigate between business and family, leading to her being known as “Godmother.” 

The first look of the 49-year-old actress stepping into the role, features a seemingly unhappy Vergara wearing a long-sleeved printed top, smoking a cigarette and sitting at a desk.
