She said, “All that I think about is theme and influence.” “Every time I go to Met [Gala]It’s hard to believe that everyone didn’t work on this for seven-ten months. [their ensemble]. I’m like, ‘How do you not arrive exhausted by the details of getting it right?'”

She also spoke out about the rigorous process involved in choosing what clothes to wear at fashion’s most important night.

It is an assignment, and it should be understood. She explained that it must be labour-intensive and should not be easy. It would be easy to find the perfect dress for that evening. It would be great to have a vacation. But that isn’t the task.

But that doesn’t mean she hasn’t had her own struggles with some of the themes too.

She said, “The assignment determines the theme. Sometimes the theme is not clear to you.” “We’ve had some very abstract themes where you’re like, ‘Well, how do you interpret that?’ It’s like singing a song—either you’re an interpreter or you’re not.”

SJP makes our hearts sing tonight, indeed!
