Boxing legend Mike TysonAccording to the legal team of the victim, he should not have entered into the ring along with another passenger on a plane.
Lawyers representing the man who was allegedly punched in the face by Tyson on a recent JetBlue flight are sharing their client’s version of the story.
A statement by NBC was obtained from attorney Matt Morgan of Morgan & Morgan described his client, Melvin George Townsend IIIAs a big Mike Tyson fan, who was “overly excited” to see the boxing champ on an April 20 San Francisco flight.
Morgan observed that their first interaction was cordial. Morgan noted that Mr. Tyson began striking back after becoming agitated from an excited fan.
“This situation could have been avoided simply by contacting a flight attendant,” Morgan continued. To state the obvious: Tyson was one of history’s greatest fighters and should have been aware that he could not touch an exaggerated fan.
