News from Cage and Shibata about their growing family is less than a year since they were married in Las Vegas.

The ceremony, which was held at the Wynn hotel, saw the couple exchange “traditional Catholic and Shinto vows with poetry from Walt Whitman and Haiku sprinkled in,” per a rep for the actor.

As he chatted on his brother Marc Coppola‘s radio program in 2020, Cage explained that he initially hoped that he and Shibata would have a “really beautiful Shinto wedding” in Japan, but they had to shift their plans due to the coronavirus pandemic.

His proposal also had to be made virtual. “She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada and I haven’t seen her for six months,” he said at the time. “We are very happy together and really excited to share that time so I decided to just say, ‘Look. I wanna marry your’, and we were engaged over FaceTime

To prove his love, the actor sent Shibata a black diamond engagement band.
