
A total of 80 beauty queens from all over the globe will be competing for Miss Universe 2021 this weekend.
If it seems like you just watched the annual pageant, you’re not alone: The 2020 competition, won by Miss Mexico Andrea MezaAfter being delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the contest took place in May. The 2021 contest, the 70th for the organization, will air live from Israel’s coastal city of Eilat on Sunday, Dec. 12.
Steve HarveyThe event’s host, who was absent from the first edition of the competition in 2015, returns to the stage. He has also hosted the event between 2015 & 2019. This year’s competition is also highlighting the issue of climate change and will showcase contestants of the past and the social and international issues they face in their communities.
The pageant will include national costumes competitions, as well as swimsuit and evening gown contests. In preliminary contests, the contestants displayed their looks on Friday Dec. 10.
There will be 160 countries airing the Miss Universe official competition for 2021. In the United States, Telemundo and Fox will broadcast the show. For times, check your local listings.
