Kathryn Prescott will never forget the day her life seemed to change forever.

The cement truck that struck the actress in September broke her leg, foot, left hand, pelvis and left hand. And today, for the first time, the 30-year-old is opening up about what happened—and how an ordinary rock became her, well, rock.

She captioned her first Instagram post in almost five months, “An anonymous lady, whose name I never saw, placed this rock into mine as I was being lifted onto the stretcher,” She whispered to me that the rock was good luck. One of my assistants asked what I had in my fist when I got into the operating room. “I realized that it was something I’d been keeping since childhood, and I didn’t realize how much.”

She shared the photo with her rock and it became a kind of lucky charm. “Thank you to that woman (if anyone knows who she is, please tell me) and to all of my amazing nurses, doctors, physical/occupational therapists and surgeons at NYP and Mount Sinai,” she continued before shouting out her twin Megan Prescott. My sister was able to move heaven and earth in order to reach me during the global pandemic. My friends, thank you for your support and sending my mums, sisters, friends, and family when I couldn’t.”
