Britney made a slight backtrack the day after Jan. 15.

The “Toxic” singer said in-part: “Jamie Lynn… “I don’t believe your book is about you at all.” I spoke harshly because of the hurtful things that you made about me. “I could swear I said, “But you are not,” when I stated that only a scumperson would create such things about another person.

You have done incredible !!!!!” work, I’m sure you put in a lot of effort to achieve the life that you live. Britney continued with her tweet directed towards Jamie Lynn. We would have to both agree that my family has not been as harsh on you as it was on me. I was abused by my Dad, and they won’t be able to do that to anyone else. So for me to just sit there and not react to the things that have happened is honesty. [sic]Crazy to me !!!”

Up until a judge terminated Britney’s conservatorship, her and Jamie Lynn’s dad, Jamie Spears, had largely been in control of Britney’s finances and personal life—an arrangement that she described as “abusive” when speaking out against him and the rest of her family in 2021.
