Felicia D. Henderson had high hopes for First Kill.

This YA series was a great show with a varied cast and an interesting story. It would have been a hit among teens. But it seems Netflix subscribers weren’t interested in watching all eight episodes, which debuted on the platform in June. 

Henderson said that he was shocked when he called to say they were not renewing the program because their completion rate wasn’t high enough. The Daily Beast Aug. 4. August 4. A couple weeks back, I was told that completion would be higher. It didn’t.

She stated that “the initial marketing art was stunning.” “I think I expected that to be the beginning and that the other equally compelling and important elements of the show—monsters vs. monster hunters, the battle between two powerful matriarchs, etc.—would eventually be promoted, and that didn’t happen.”
