Creating a luxurious feel to your living room does not have to be as difficult as it sounds or as expensive as it looks. There are many ways in which you can add a touch of class to the room in which you spend so much time relaxing, socializing and watching television, for example. Continue reading for our suggestions.

Walls

First of all, it worth remembering that no one wants grubby walls. If yours are showing signs of wear and tear, be sure to either clean them (use a gentle mixture on paint) or give them a fresh lick of paint. White can look luxurious, but it is important to remember that white stains and will need renewing quite quickly. For large living rooms, an emerald green can look stunning, almost royal, creating an impressive look and feel to the room. Wallpaper is another consideration, though can be tricky to hang if you are undertaking the room yourself. To make things a little less stressful, consider employing someone to do the work for you such as these experienced, professional King of Prussia painters. If you are wanting something completely different, think about wooden paneling for your walls. It is reminiscent of years gone by, but has an antique charm about it.

Furniture

Your sofa is the most important piece of furniture in your living room; everything else can take a back seat to this. The aesthetics of your seating is obviously important, but so is the comfort. Choosing something that looks stunning, but does not offer a relaxing place to park yourself after a long day at work, will ultimately lead to disappointment and regret.  You should also consider lifespan. If you opt for a fabric which will wear easily, yet again, you will not continue to be happy with your decision for very long. For a stunning pop of color in your living room, choose a bright sofa such as teal or fuchsia.

Bespoke is the name of the game when it comes to choosing a stunning coffee or side table. Knowing that no one else will have an item exactly the same as yours adds an extra element of luxury. If you are creative, you could even create your own or upcycle an item you have been given or no longer use. This means you can choose everything to ensure it coordinates precisely with the rest of your room and meets your vision.

Soft Furnishings

Adding cushions to your sofa in a contrasting color can entirely change the overall effect of the room. There are some rich, flamboyant patterns out there which catch your eye immediately. The texture of soft furnishings should also be considered. A velvety feel can be very alluring as well as being soft and comfortable. A wooden floor always looks attractive, but you could consider adding something to it. A well-chosen rug can be a great option. There are so many patterns, styles and sizes available these days that a traditional flying carpet type is no longer the only option.
