Bachelor Nation’s Clay Harbor has learned that even a remark intended as a compliment can cause a thorny situation.

The 34-year old alum of Becca Kufrin“s” The Bachelorette season offered clarification on TwitterFollowing a previous tweet, he posted a new tweet about current Bachelorette Michelle YoungApparently, he was met with criticism.

“Guys, when I said ‘controversial opinion Michelle is the most beautiful bachelorette’ I meant no disrespect,” the former NFL player wrote on Wednesday, Nov. 3. “The controversial part of this is because there have been so numerous beautiful women in that place. (18 I think).

He said, “Just trying to.” [compliment]. We apologise if you were offended.

As The BacheloretteClay, who also appeared in the Nov. 2 episode of’s, aired. Bachelor in Paradise in 2019, took to Twitter to praise the 28-year-old schoolteacher as, in his estimation, the most beautiful Bachelorette the show has ever featured. His original tweet was deleted. 

Clay replied to an individual who asked Clay if he had offended anyone by saying, “You’re gorgeous’ used to mean a compliment.” Clay also added an emoji with a weary expression.
