The America’s Got Talent family has lost one of their own.

Jay Jay PhillipsThe band of, who played on the NBC talent show for two seasons, have lost their musician friend,. Mettal Maffia confirmed. He was just 30.

“It is with great sadness we inform you all of the loss of our bandmate/brother/and friend @jayjayrocks,” read a statement shared on the band’s Instagram page on Tuesday, Nov. 30. We would do anything to make it feel more real.

They added that they would respect their wishes and the families as they grieve this devastating loss.

Phillips’ relatives told TMZ by a member that Phillips was sick with COVID-19. The keyboardist died on Thanksgiving Day, when Phillips’ girlfriend and her mother visited him to confirm his condition.

Phillips is a Ohio native and made his debut appearance on America’s Got Talent during its fourth season in 2009. After auditioning, he was ejected from the contest. Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne and David HasselhoffIn which he performed an original tune.
