Upon landing at LAX airport on April 20—fresh from his Caribbean getaway with his pregnant girlfriend Rihanna—the 33-year-old rapper was arrested after exiting the couple’s private jet.
NBC News reports the arrest of the rapper by Los Angeles Police Department and Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations team. It was in connection with a 2021 shooting.
According to the outlet, A$AP was born Rakim MayersAccording to police reports, Mayers was “under investigation” in connection with an incident which occurred last November in California. According to police reports, the victim of the shooting, who was able to survive, said that Mayers approached him while accompanied by two others and that he had a gun on the street. He also stated that Mayers fired at him “three to four times” and that he believed that one bullet had grazed his hand.
Before his arrest, the shooting was not reported to anyone.
