Wish Zendaya Had More Dune Screen Time? Filmmakers Talk Sequel

Needed Zendaya to have more screen time in Dune? You are not the only one. 

After the film was released last week, fans took to social media to express their frustrations that the actress appeared in the film for only a brief amount of time.

“Zendaya is only available in Japan Dune“For 7 minutes,” one follower tweeted. Added YouTuber Machaizelli Kahey (a.k.a. MacDoesIt), “The credits were longer than Zendaya’s camera time in Dune“

The film adaptation of Frank HerbertZendaya is the Fremen warrior Chani in Zendaya’s 1965 novel and appears in just a handful scenes. According to the Los Angeles TimesShe narrates opening scene and then makes a few guest appearances throughout the movie’s dreams of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet). However, spoiler alert: she doesn’t return until the end when she and Paul meet.

Zendaya has been featured on DuneMany viewers expected her to play a larger role in the movie. She has been promoting it on its press tour with a trailer and poster.
