Captain America portrays Buzz Lightyear in Disney’s Pixar’s latest role. Lightyear.The trailer was dropped on Wednesday, October 27, and the 40-year old shared his excitement on social media.
“Animated movie [sic]They were an important part of my childhood. They were my escape. My adventures. His dreams,” he wrote in an Instagram tweet.
“They were my first exposure to the magic of storytelling. To @pixar and @AngusMacLane: ‘Thank you’ doesn’t even come close #Lightyear.”
The tweet was accompanied by the star’s full statement. It said in part, “The phrase ‘a dream come true’ gets thrown around a lot, but I’ve never meant it more in my life,” it read.
“Anyone who knows me will know that I have a deep love for animated films. I can’t believe I get to be part the Pixar family with these brilliant artists who tell stories that are unlike any other. It is magical to watch them work. Every day I am humbled.”
