Ever since the 31-year-old singer released her re-recorded version of “All Too Well” on Nov. 12 from The Taylor’s Version of RedFans have been expressing their emotions over this solemn tune since then. Taylor mentioned that Taylor released an additional version of the song just in case it was time for sad girl autumn.
The Grammy-winning artist announced the launch of the new song in an Instagram post on Nov. 18. He wrote, “One the saddest and most difficult songs I have ever written has just gotten sadder.” Fans will feel the single’s slower pace, even though it is likely to bring out emotions they didn’t know they had. According to one Twitter user pointed out, “The chances of me listening to ‘All Too Well (Sad Girl Autumn Version)’ without weeping are slim…”
The track—which has long been rumored to be about Taylor’s past relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal—quickly became a fan favorite following its original release in 2012.
