See Steve Carell Get Chained up in The Patient Trailer

Somebody’s having a bad day at the office. 

Alexander Strauss, Psychotherapist (Steve Carell) gets more than he asked for from new patient Sam Fortner (Domhnall Geeson(in the terrifying trailer The PatientPremiering August 30, on FX, Hulu.

“I don’t feel satisfied. I get angry,” Sam says in the trailer. You help people by doing that, right?

Carell is, however, struggling to be himself. Carell is having nightmares about people next to him. He says, “My entire life, I have tried to figure myself out so that I can help others understand themselves so they have good relationships. And here I am.”

Still, he agrees to take on Sam as a new client after he begs, “I want you. The expert is what I need. It’s not me. “I need to improve.”

Alexander assures his client as they get started to work together that the hard part is over.

He says, “Anyone who’s made it this far, and has chosen to go to therapy, and continue hammering at the difficult things, can get help.”
