Rob GronkowskiHe has retired from the NFL.
In an Instagram posting, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ tight end shared that he was retiring for the second consecutive season.
Rob said, “I’ll now be returning to my retirement home and walking away from football with my head high knowing that I gave everything, no matter how bad,” Rob added. My friendships and connections will never be forgotten and I am grateful to my coach and team-mates for everything.
Rob—who first retired in 2019 after playing nine seasons for the New England Patriots, per ESPN—came out of retirement and back on to the field in 2020 to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In his Instagram posting of June 21, 2013, the 33 year-old shared a reflection on an essay he wrote at college. It was about the desire to play football one day for the Buccaneers.
