JoJo Siwa took to Instagram on Jan. 22 to mark the first anniversary of her coming out as a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community.
The 18-year old Nickelodeon star posted a picture showing herself in the “Best” outfit and said, “In the past 365 days… I have felt more love than any time.” Gay. Cousin. Ever.” She first shared her T-shirt with her fans Jan. 22, 2021. “One year ago, today I shared this image and told the world I was gay.
Siwa, with 23.6 million Instagram followers and YouTube subscribers, stated that coming out has been scary to her. “The answer is yes of course, anything that’s different about you is scary,” she continued, “however… it’s what makes me… me. I didn’t fear sharing my experience with the outside world.
The “Boomerang” singer added that people also frequently ask her, “‘Your demographic is so young are you worried about telling kids [you’re] gay?'” She replied: She replied, “Truthfully. I believe that I was created to model love for children, and that I want everyone to know that they can be loved for all that they are.”
