There’s a new Beverly Hills cop in town, well so to speak. Chris Meloni who has played Elliot Stabler on Law and Order: SVU and wife Sherman Williams-Meloni have just decided to lease a Beverly Hills mansion of an estimated $20,000 a month.
The 6,000 square foot, Spanish Style home was built in 1929 and holds to it’s original look. The home has four bedrooms and six bathrooms. Designed by famed Ralph Flewelling, the decor is still very reminiscent of the days of silent movies. However, the home may not be completely to everyone’s taste especially when you consider the orange velvet paneling in some of the rooms with orange velvet cushioned bench, but to each their own.
The mansion features a courtyard entry, four fireplaces, a card room, a den and an office. Also located on the estate is a guesthouse, a lavish swimming pool and plenty of shaded and landscaped outdoor living space. Even though it shows that great care was taken to keep this home original in every detail, I’m just not seeing Elliot Stabler coming home from a long day of chasing bad guys and kicking off his shoes while having a cold one in front of the tube. I just can’t picture it.
Christopher Meloni is best known for his portrayal of detective Elliot Stabler on Law & Order: SVU, but he does have several other successful films and television shows to his credit. Meloni has also played Chris Keller, the bi-sexual inmate on the HBO drama OZ as well as the vampire Roman on True Blood. Meloni has proved that he has a wide range of talents from drama to comedy.
Meloni and his wife, production designer Doris Sherman Williams have two children, daughter Sophia Eva Meloni (2001), and son Dante Meloni (2004).
