Mornings will never be the same for April Simpkins, mother of late beauty queen Cheslie Kryst.
In January, April lost her 30-year-old daughter—a former Miss USA who worked as a lawyer and Extra TV correspondent—to suicide at age 30. A May 4, episode of Jada Pinkett Smith‘s family talk show Red table talk, now streaming on Facebook Watch, April shared that Chelsie, the second-eldest of her six children, was her “best friend” and an essential part of her mornings.
April stated, “She was my first contact when I awoke.” She said, “We’d just be going about our lives and Facetiming every other. While she would be doing her makeup, I would be at work getting ready. “How are you today?” What’s happening? It makes my mornings miserable if I don’t have it.”
Cheslie was killed at 7 AM on January 30, 2013. Cheslie died on January 30 at 7 a.m. [exercise]April stated that class was her goal. “I had planned to call her while I was driving home, but when I checked my phone, there was a message from her.
