Anna Nicole Smith’s Studio City, California home was sold earlier this year, six years after the Playboy Playmate and reality television star’s death with the proceeds going to her daughter Dannielynn.
Smith bought the home in April 2005 for $1.335 million. The 4,700 square foot home was built in 2002 and has five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms. Along with a contemporary Mediterranean style the home is set above the city with spacious views from the wrap-around balconies and the large pool area. There is also a living room with dual fireplaces, marble floors throughout and a bottom level area for a gym.
Within the home’s entryway is a large pop art-style portrait of Anna Nicole, who only got to live in the lavish mansion for two years after purchasing it.
Born Vickie Lynn Hogan, Anna Nicole Smith was a model, actress and television personality who gained popularity by becoming the 1993 Playboy Playmate of the Year. Her highly publicized second marriage to oil business mogul, J. Howard Marshall who, at 89, was 62 years older than Anna Nicole who was 26, resulted in speculation that she married him for his money, which she repeatedly denied in the media.
After Marshall’s death, Anna Nicole began a long and drawn out legal battle over a share of his estate. The case reached the Supreme Court on a question of federal jurisdiction, then again on a question of bankruptcy court authority.
Anna Nicole Smith died on February 8, 2007 in a Hollywood, Florida hotel room as a result of an overdose of prescription drugs. Within the final six months of her life, Smith was the focus of a renewed press coverage surrounding the death of her son, Daniel , and the paternity and custody battle over her newborn daughter, Dannielynn.
