Groupon’s been catching on as a way for people to save money on anything, including oversea getaways, toys, electronics, local events, etc. And of course, if you attend a local event or travel in a group, then you get group-on savings! Alright, lets get down to brass house tax. Groupon’s former CEO, Andrew Mason, still managed to live peacefully somewhere. Not any longer, at least in Evanston. Mason listed his Sound-of-Music Illinois retreat in July 2013, and snagged a buyer last month. The 1964 estate sold for $4.070 million.
The 5 bed and 4.1 bath floor plan rests on a lush bed of greenery by Lake Michigan. It’s quite a beauty inside and out, with a proper amount of varied trees welcoming home the new owner(s) and guests with warmth. The two-story 4,963 sq ft home is both elegant and homey. One feature that may represent the 0.97 acre property is the neat little indoor patio that’s equipped with large windows and opens up immediately to a zen backyard. Other amenities include centralized air, attached 3-car garage, fireplaces, dishwasher, washer, dryer, refridgerator, and microwave.
