When casting for her directorial debut thriller film Pussy IsleThe BatmanStar knew the role of Slater King (a tech mogul) should be taken by someone who had never played a dark part before. Kravitz ended up playing the role, which Kravitz admitted to being her first choice.

“I felt, even from afar, before I knew him, that he was a feminist and that he wasn’t afraid of exploring that darkness, because he knows he’s not that,” Kravitz told WSJ Magazine in an Aug. 16 interview. “That was why I was attracted to him, and that is why I wanted to meet him. “I was correct.”

She spoke of her desire to cast the Magic MikeShe said, star: “It’s thrilling to watch someone who has mostly played boy nextdoor, good guy and love interest all of that,” she shared with the outlet.
