The lavish Malibu estate of Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett is anything but cozy. Actually more appropriate terms would be spectacular, huge and extravagant. The 25,000 square foot home sits on a 150 acre complex in Malibu. Designed by Stephen Samuelson, the home that was featured in Architectural Digest September 2011 was built with no dead-ends to, as Will himself has said “create an infinite cycle that represented what Jada and I had hoped for our love”. The couple had the whole home built by hand because, “We wanted to feel the love and labor that went into every piece of this place,” according to Will.

Samuelson’s spatial creation has several secret nooks and relaxing areas that make use of swooping curves and unique shapes that make the rooms, both large and small flow and connect to each other to create one sweeping and fluent living area.

The home includes 9 bedrooms, a meditation room, a state of the art recording studio (where Willow recorded her hit song “Whip My Hair”), a large pasture and lake with a gazebo, full basketball court and separate tennis court and three golf holes.

Will Smith started out as rapper Fresh Prince and along with his childhood friend Jeffrey “DJ Jazzy Jeff” had hit records that included “Parents Just Don’t Understand” and “Summertime”. Smith’s acting debut came in the form of the hit TV sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air which was built around his rapping persona.

Will Smith hit the big screen with his first two major roles in Six Degrees of Separation (1993) and Bad Boys (1995). In 1996 Smith starred in the movie that would launch him into the realm of being a prime box office draw, Independence Day, which became the second highest grossing film in history at the time. Since then Smith has gone on to perfect his acting with the Men in Black series.

Smith married actress Jada Pinkett in 1997 and they live with their two children, Jaden Christopher Syre (born 1998) and Willow Camille Reign (born 2000) and Will’s son from a previous marriage Willard Christopher Smith III, also known as Trey.
