Hiddleston spoke in May The Guardian that he hoped “Loki coming out as bisexual was meaningful to people who spotted it,” adding, “it was definitely important to all of us.”
Hiddleston described the experience of playing the trickster in the screenplay as a “huge adventure” to James. VarietyChat about Loki’s “changes over the years.”
Loki was originally in so many variations. He shared that the costumes were very elaborate, and he was wearing a full-length wig while filming in New Mexico and Cleveland. “I was always trying to break out of the mask—let something honest come through. First you create the character. Then you make the exterior. And then, through the mask you can express your feelings in a certain way.
When it was time for the TV series to be filmed, the actor tried to overcome all barriers to reach the core of his character.
He stated, “One my major things was to grow my own hair. Then I would dye it.” “It’s just going to be as natural as it can be so I can spend all my time investigating the interiority rather than just saying, ‘I think everyone knows who the character is now.'”
Instead, he said that letting’s get to know him better, digging deep into him, finding new things about him and challenging the character to grow and change. It was a great experience. It was great fun!”
