Find Free Moving Boxes, Wrapping, Etc.

What’s better than saving money, not spending any at all! One of the easiest ways to save money is to find free moving supplies such as boxes, newspapers, and in some cases, even tape. To find free boxes it is as easy as going to your local retailer and asking the manager for their boxes. They will be happy to oblige because taking empty boxes off of their hands means fewer trips to the garbage. Even some national department stores such as Target will give you boxes for asking.

Another way is to use old newspapers and circulars to wrap up your items in, instead of buying expensive bubble wrap. Going to stores and even your neighbors can warrant you more newspapers than you can use. And in a way, this counts as recycling, which is always a good thing. 

Have A Garage Sale Before Your Move

If possible, see if there is a way to have a garage sale before you move. This is a two-fold win because you can get rid of items you no longer need while making some money for them. Even if you sell a few items, it is cash that you may not have gotten for the item otherwise. 

Even if you can not personally have a garage sale yourself, see if there is a friendly neighbor around that would be willing to sell some of your items for a flat fee or commission rate. This way you are still able to sell some of the items for extra money. 

Research Movable Storage Units
