Jonathan Bailey is jumping from the Regency era to an American love story.
The Bridgerton star and Matt BomerShowtime’s limited series will see them play love in their upcoming shows Meet fellow travelers, the network announced on July 11.
Based on the book, this series was created. Thomas MellonAccording to network,, “an epic love story, political thriller, chronicling two very different men, who meet under McCarthy-era Washington,” is titled. “Handsome and charismatic Hawkins Fuller (Bomer) avoids emotional entanglements—until he meets Tim Laughlin (Bailey), a young man brimming with idealism and religious faith.”
The eight-episode series also co-stars Allison WilliamsAs Lucy Smith, the daughter of a senator who has known Fuller since they were teenagers.
Showtime reports that Fuller meets Laughlin just as Roy Cohn (Josh McCarthy) declare war on’subversives, sexual deviants. It is the beginning of one of 20th-century America’s most dark periods.” Hawk and Tim have a four-decade relationship that sees them cross paths during the Vietnam War protests in 1960s, 1970s drug-fueled disco hedonism, and the AIDS crisis 1980s. While they face many obstacles, their friendship is forged.
