Index Shows Sharp Contrast in Markets

In real estate, it’s often about location, location, location, and Concierge Auctions New York locations illustrate both ends of the spectrum.

In its release of the fifth annual U.S. Luxury Homes Index, Concierge Auctions analyzes the 10 highest property sales in 56 U.S. high-end markets. The analysis showed that the Hamptons had the second-highest days on market of all markets, averaging 887 days, or nearly two and a half years. The top 10 properties sold in the Hamptons each took longer than 180 days to sell. The top sales showed an average sale price of just 63 percent of the original listing price, the lowest percentage in the past three years.

By contrast, New York City is the hottest market in the index report, with the highest average sale price, 433 percent higher than all other markets analyzed. The average sale price of $65.56 million is on par with the $65.37 million average for 2019 sales.
