Austin is home to some of the most beautiful real estate in all of Texas. It’s no wonder why many celebrities call Austin home. Many Hollywood A-list celebrities prefer Austin over the congested city of Angles. Some of the stars that were born in Austin are Stone Cold Steve Austin, Drew Brees, Tom Ford, Amber Heard, and Travis Scott.

Mathew McConaughey
Probably the most popular of Austin’s residents is Mathew McConaughey who has a 10,000+ square foot mansion in the Rivercrest neighborhood near Lake Austin along the Colorado River. His home features seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms in this Spanish Mediterranean style mansion. He even has a boat dock for easy access to the river.
McConaughey is very philanthropic, and there is a good chance you can see him volunteering all over Austin.
Andy Roddick
Located in the heart of Texas Hill Country is the 7,000+ mansion of Andy Roddick and wife Brooklyn Decker. Their house sits on 15+ acres of land with 6.5 bathrooms and a wine cellar, swimming pool, and an outdoor fire pit. This mansion features beautiful wood beans and wood floors nearly throughout. The estate is very private and is covered by mature trees.
Elijah Wood
The star of the Lord of the Rings can be spotted riding his scooter around Austin. A few years back he bought a Victorian mansion in the Bouldin Creek Neighborhood of South Austin. His Victorian mansion is 3,200 square feet which are a decent size for a home of this style. The Bouldin Neighborhood is a hip and convenient section of town where coffee shops and restaurants are all within walking distance.
Willie Nelson
Right up there with McConaughey Willie Nelson is a fixture in Austin, Texas. So much so you can spot murals of Willie all over town, and his ponytails are featured on official visitor t-shirts and at the Austin Visitors Center. His ranch is located just outside the city limits in Spicewood, Texas. While he doesn’t spend all his time in Texas as he splits time with California.
Celebrities that Come and Go
Over the years there have been some celebrities that have lived in Austin. One of the most famous Austin residents was Lance Armstrong. He lived in Austin for years but recently moved to Colorado with his family. Sandra Bullock would split her time between Los Angeles and Austin but has since sold her Austin home.
