On Friday, Jan. 14, five days after his untimely death, the beloved Voll House star was laid to rest at a funeral service in Los Angeles. The wife of the comedian was among those who attended. Saget is Saget’s friend for many years. John Stamos attended the event alongside their co-stars Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen.
Ahead of the funeral, Stamos tweeted that this would be the “hardest” day of his life. “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,” he wrote, “courage to change the things I can,And wisdom to know the difference.”
Saget was on his stand up comedy tour before his death. Authorities confirmed earlier that Saget had been found dead in his Florida hotel room on Jan. 9. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, “Earlier today, officers were dispatched by Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes to investigate a complaint about a person unresponsive in a hotel room.” tweeted Sunday. “The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. The case had no evidence of drug or foul play by the detectives.”
