After dancing and singing, Tick, Tick… Boom! and swinging from spider webs in Spider-Man has no way home, the actor is taking on the role of detective Pyre in the FX mini-series Unter dem Banner of Heaven. The network describes Pyre as a Latter-Day Saints “elder” who is dedicated and committed to his Church, family and religion but then begins to question the teachings of the Church through contact with a murder suspect.
A teaser was released Wednesday February 23 and shows the actor, clean-shaven, confronted by a horrific crime scene like none he has ever witnessed before. “I wonder how something so horrific,” Garfield says, “could come to pass.”
This series was inspired by the 2003 title book. Jon Krakauer The 1984 assassination of Brenda Lafferty (Daisy Edgar Jones) and her infant daughter, EricaAt the feet of brother-in-law Ron And Dan Lafferty. The Salt Lake Tribune, both brothers were ultimately convicted of Brenda and Erica’s murder.
