The fourth season of the Netflix sci-fi smash hit found our favorite characters canvassing all corners of the globe, which presented a uniquely challenging endeavor for the show’s costume designer, Amy Parris.
Also, it’s not only Hawkins that we aren’t.
With parts of the story moving to California—and even Russia!—it was imperative for Amy to not only capture the ’80s aesthetic, but to also capture what made that aesthetic different in every setting.
Amy exclusive told CelebHomes News, “I went regional thinking we’d both be in different areas.” While You were Streaming. I knew California would have a desert vibe. Yearbooks of this area were found and I was intrigued by the pastel, sun-soaked colors. Hawkins is not known for its quality. They are slightly brighter, and more faded by the sun.
Her team and she made California “a bit more fashion-forward” than Midwestern counterparts. She said that they stayed with “rich, saturated colours” in Hawkins.
