TikTok star Ophelia Nichols says she’s feeling “grateful, but not happy” that a suspect has been arrested in connection with her late son’s murder.

Randon Lee was shot dead at a gas station in Prichard, Ala. last June, one day before his 19th birthday. On Aug. 18, the suspect, Reuben GulleyMobile County Sheriff’s records indicate that 20-year old Isaiah was jailed for murder. According local Fox affiliate WALA-TV, he surrendered himself to police. The outlet said that a judge has denied him a bond and that the suspect is due to be arraigned next week.

I’m receiving 100 messages from people saying that they are so happy now. And I am not,” Lee’s mom said in an Aug. 19 TikTok video. “I’m not happy.”

She captioned the clip with “Grateful, But Not Happy”

Ophelia said that when she saw the suspect’s mug shot, she thought to herself, “My goodness. It’s a child. He’s just a baby.” She said, “That made me think that he decided to throw his life away in 11 seconds.” There was one thing he and his child shared in common. That was their mother’s willingness to do anything for them. That is what I believe they share.
