The House of the Dragon trailer is further proof that Daenerys Targaryen comes from a line of strong women.
The trailer was released on July 20th. It shows the Targaryens being challenged by King Viserys (Paddy ConsidineHe has to choose his heir. There are two options: Rhaenyra his daughter or (Milly Alcock) and brother Daemon (Matt Smith). Lyonel Strong (Gavin Spokes), the Master of Laws to King Viserys, says, “No queen has ever sat on the Iron Throne.”
Corlys Velaryon (Steve ToussaintDaemon (?) appears on his side. He claims that he is the rightful inheritor because he’s a man.
King Viserys supports his decision and tells his advisers that he will not choose between his brother or my daughter.
He could choose to not, but this could spark a bigger battle for the Iron Throne. As Laenor Velaryon (John Macmillan) foreshadows, “War is afoot.”
So begins the battle for power. The trailer offers a glimpse into the brutal and fiery fights ahead.
