With this reunion, the Hollywood Hills was alive and well.

Julie Andrews received the AFI Live Achievement Award at a Gala Tribute in Los Angeles on June 9, and the stars who played the von Trapp children in The Sound of MusicThey gathered together to celebrate their careers. Nicholas Hammond (Friedrich), Duane Chase (Kurt), Angela Cartwright (Brigitta), Debbie Turner (Marta) and Kym Karath (Gretl) walked the red carpet at the Dolby Theater and at one point led the crowd in a sing-along of “Do Re Mi.” They said farewell to the evening before taking a group photo with Andrews. Andrews played Maria in the film of 1965 and won an Academy Award nomination.

Unfortunately not everyone in the film’s extended family could make it. Charmian Carr and Heather Menzies-Urich, who portrayed LieslAnd Louisa von Trapp in the movie, died in 2016 and 2017, respectively, and Christopher PlummerLast year, Captain Georg von Trapp’s actor, sadly, died.
