The WNBA star was detained on Feb. 17, under suspicion for drug smuggling.
In her message, which was obtained by CelebHomes News from the athlete’s publicist, Brittney detailed the thoughts that cross her mind as she sits behind bars, writing, “…as I sit here in a Russian prison, alone with my thoughts and without the protection of my wife, family, friends, Olympic jersey, or any accomplishments, I’m terrified I might be here forever.”
Although her letter was delivered to The White House July 4, it is significant for her in many ways.
It stated, “On the Fourth of July, my family usually honors the service for those who fought in our freedom,” This year, freedom is something I value very differently. It’s hard to imagine how it feels.
