Shawn Mendes is putting his tour on hold to focus on his mental health.
The 23-year-old announced on social media July 8 that he is postponing several dates on his WonderWorld tour begins July 9, in Saint Paul (Minn.) and will continue until the end of August.
“It hurts my heart that I must say it,” he said. “But unfortunately, I will have to delay the next three week of shows through Uncasville CT, until further notice.”
Shawn said he’s “been touring since I was 15” and that he’s always found it “difficult to be on the road away from friends and family.”
He said, “After several years on the road, it felt like I was ready for a dive back in. But that decision was premature, and unfortunately, the tolls of the road have caught up with me and the pressure has reached a breaking point. Following discussions with my health professional and team, I decided to rest and heal. If there are any updates, I will inform you. Love you guys.
